The Why, How & What of What We Do

Our Motivation

The header image on this page is a tribute to my hometown of Whitstable, a seaside town in the southeast of England. As you’ll notice, it shares a special connection with my adopted home of New Orleans.

A few years ago, I lost both of my parents. Thankfully, I have some written memoirs from my father that tell incredible stories of his life—stories of growing up in a children’s home, living through the Second World War, and eventually meeting my mother. But as precious as those words are, there is something missing. What I wouldn’t give to hear him tell those stories again. To hear the tone of his voice, to see the mischievous smile that appeared whenever he recalled the trouble he got into, and to watch his emotions surface as he spoke about the remarkable Sister Winifred, who cared for him during his childhood.

The truth is that we rarely think to turn the camera toward our parents and grandparents. Even as someone who has spent years helping organizations tell their stories through communications, storytelling, and video, I failed to capture my own parents’ voices and memories in a meaningful way.

That experience changed me. Today, I consider it a tremendous privilege to use my skills in videography, storytelling, and communication to help preserve the stories that might otherwise be lost. Every person has a lifetime of experiences, wisdom, humor, and history worth preserving—not just for today, but for future generations who will one day treasure the chance to hear those stories told in their loved one’s own voice.

Equipment and set up.

We use professional-grade cameras, premium lenses, and carefully selected lighting equipment to capture stunning cinematic footage that looks polished, natural, and engaging. Every piece of equipment in our setup is chosen for a purpose: to produce exceptional image quality, beautiful depth, accurate color, and a professional look that helps tell your story in the most compelling way possible.

At the same time, we understand that being on camera can feel intimidating. That’s why we’ve developed a streamlined production approach that strikes the perfect balance between quality and comfort. Rather than surrounding you with an overwhelming amount of gear, we use only the equipment necessary to achieve outstanding results while maintaining a relaxed and approachable environment. This allows you to feel comfortable, confident, and authentic on camera—resulting in footage that feels genuine and connects with your audience.

What We Need From You

Complete the Questionnaire

An opportunity for you to let us know which stories are most important to capture. Who the family members are. Any photos or special items that should be featured in the final film. This will include a link for you to upload photos and other files.

01
Choose the Space

We don't require a large or elaborate location, just a space that is quiet, free from interruptions, and large enough for us to comfortably set up our camera, lighting, and audio equipment. A living room, study, office, or community room will often work perfectly. While a pleasant background is always a bonus, our professional equipment and experience allow us to create beautiful results in a wide variety of settings. If you're unsure whether a space is suitable, we'll be happy to discuss options and help you choose the best location for your interview.

02
Consider Any Extra Services you might Like To Include

You'll find a range of additional services on our home page, but the possibilities don't end there. If you have a unique idea or special request, please ask—we're always happy to explore creative options.

03
A "get to know you" Appointment.

An opportunity for us to meet the subject of the video, to break the ice, and to answer any questions they have. This would also be the time that we take a look at the location for the video shoot and plan our camera location and lighting.
